We drink Contact Coffee Co, every day, it’s the office go-to brew. We got chatting to the lads behind this veteran owned business earlier this year, kicked a few ideas around and wondered if they'd make us a special blend. As a team we (mostly) have enough natural get-up and-go between us so we were after something from the more mellow side of the roaster.
Introducing our very own Contact Coffee Co End Ex brew. End Ex is a time every soldier looks forward to, when they down tools and take five. The smooth Ethiopian Blend has chocolate notes, perfect for unwinding and spinning dits. Buy a bag or two here
We've loved running our not for profit t-shirt campaigns for the NHS and Royal British Legion this year and they gave us a taste for more. So... drum roll please..... tadaaaa!
In typical EB style there's plenty of subtle detail in the design, from the lat/long coordinates of our Head Office by the water in Poole to the 13 micro-markers from the minutes track of a Canford watch signifying 2013, the year we were established. On the back there are hand drawn contours from Tyneham Cap near Kimmeridge Bay that cut through our trademark shield, like the breather lines on our rubber straps. This is our first 'Worn by Adventurers' tee and and in a spirit of not taking ourselves too seriously, we had an office poll to name it. In true porn star naming fashion, Gemma A's won through... 'Hammie Hiscoe' it is. Choose your size here
In case you haven't heard, we're working with Land Rover and have developed a pretty cool watch with them. In their words: Since 1948 Land Rover has been manufacturing authentic vehicles that represent true breath of capability. This extraordinary provenance and shared philosophy provided the perfect catalyst to collaborate and create this special edition watch.
Based on the best selling Holton Professional, the Land Rover x Elliot Brown Holton was designed with Jaguar-Land Rover design personnel as the perfect watch for active lifestyles, and incorporates numerous design cues from the new Defender including the hex ended hands and 'squircles' on the dial and bezel. So many folks said to us "you've got to talk to Tommy at Jöttnar, you guys would get on so well". So we did, we swapped and bought kit, shared a mutual appreciation for each other's creations and it's without doubt our go to gear when heading out. Ian recently gave it the thumbs up during two back to back Ben Nevis ascents in some pretty grim weather.
Jöttnar was born in Arctic Norway and is the creation of two former Royal Marine commandos who are lifelong mountaineers, climbers and skiers. Much like us, adventure DNA runs through the company and they design gear that they want to wear rather than following a trend. We also share an ambassador in base jumper, Tim Howell, who is a must follow if you don't already.
Fenrir is Jöttnar's most popular down jacket, designed for weight saving without compromising on features. Filled with ultra-warm 850 Fill Power hydrophobic goose down, in a premium 93/7 down/feather ratio. Warm, light, meticulously crafted. Buy here
Bike Shed Motorcycle Co were first introduced to us by a number of mutual friends and we just love their ethos, especially for the BSMC track days where they state the day is open to all, but you must ride something inappropriate!
The BSMC Resistant line is hard-wearing, fit-for-purpose clothing, boasting the strength and abrasion resistance needed from your riding gear – but deployed in secretly technical, casual garments. The Resistant Overshirt is a classic straight hemmed, chore type coat with a zip and button closure, four exterior pockets and snap down collar. It's not hard to see why these are so popular. Most of our team have an Osprey pack, well before we became acquainted and got to know them as friends. They are just down the road in Poole and it's always nice to support our neighbours. Just so happens that we love what they do too.
Their Archeon 25 embodies the principles of essentialism and environmentalism for hiking. Recycled fabrics, metal componentry and a comfortable backsystem combine to produce a pack built for life in the outdoors. It's a great day pack with plenty of room that's easy to access. Buy here
The idea for Tom's business came from watching his wife (a professional calligrapher) use a plastic, mass-produced, calligraphy pen which he felt didn't match the quality of her beautiful work. With his background in furniture and product design and his experience of working in a blacksmith's forge, he decided to make her a better pen that she would love using every day. He's also made a stunning pen for Ian by laminating the multi-coloured pages G.F Smith ColorPlan swatch book - the board of choice for 'nice' print jobs.
For the past three years Tom has been searching for a pen that allowed him to write and draw with a variable line thickness. He worked on dozens of prototypes and sketches, before reaching his final iteration, 'The Sumi' (meaning Ink in Japanese). Its secret ingredient is the custom, super-flexible nib which allows you to write as thin as 0.4mm, and up to 2.0mm when fully flexed. It’s also tipped with German iridium for a smooth writing experience. Buy here
We use Pasture Naturals every day in the office, it's our go-to for skin care and works with for all our skin types. We're not alone in liking it either, Mclaren Cars, F1 teams, 5* resorts, business headquarters and Heathrow serve it to millions of people. Pasture takes skin and hair care back to nature, made in the UK with a conscience, it's completely paraben-free and contains far higher levels of natural ingredients than most mainstream bathroom products to pamper your skin and hair with the care they deserve.
Rich in vitamins and infused with the natural essences of noni fruit, olive kernel, ginger and sweet orange, Pasture nourishes, rejuvenates and refreshes like nothing else. They have put together this gift pack we think is just perfect with their best selling Neem Tree hand wash Indian Mulberry healing hand lotion, Olive Kernel hair wash, Chinese Ginger bath and shower, some decent Sanitiser and a gorgeous reed diffuser. We never tire of Pia's intricate art in our homes, in gift cards and on the office walls with the odd special commission in the mix too. Her syle has a warmth of character that these three Christmas cards sum up perfectly, complete with hand made embellishments for a colourful Christmassy touch.
For anyone buying a pack of 9 cards, she's throwing in a £15 voucher towards one of her framed prints - perfect for just about any bit of wall space or give her a shout if you fancy commissioning your own masterpiece. She's a local artist creating superbly intricate pen drawings of our favourite animals, now with a festive twist. Buy your cards here
Giles and Annie are great friends. They produce amazing things inspired by the foods and experiences of a year-long motorbike adventure throughout the Med 30-ish years ago: We promise you that once you've tried Olives Et Al's marinated olives, unctuous home roasted nuts, sauces, pesto's, tapenades, dukkah's, oils and gin.. yes gin, made with olivey brine used to transport the olives from Greece that's oh so smooth with a plain tonic and an orange slice you'll be back for more.
They've curated a magnificent bunch of perfectly seasonal collections with easy to buy hampers, bags and bundles or pick and mix your own - ideal for sending to your nearest and dearest, wherever they may be and whether or not you can be with them - at the very least the gift of food always helps to lift the spirits (but not as much as their Estia gin!). Hydro Flask have been on our desks and in our backpacks since we opened our doors. Their mugs keep our coffee warm when we get distracted in the office (Ian is always delighted when he remembers his, an hour later, is still drinkable) and the flasks have so many uses. Our favourite has to be keeping ice lollies cold on a hot summers day on the beach (trust us, its game changing)
25% lighter than Hydro Flask’s original 32 oz bottle, this lightweight double wall vacuum insulated bottle uses an innovative stainless steel design that won’t retain or transfer flavour to keep you hydrated on longer pursuits. Keeping your favourite drink icy cold for up to 24 hours or piping hot for up to 12 with no condensation, the Lightweight Trail Series Wide Mouth bottle is also BPA and phthalate-free and dishwasher safe. A tough, flexible perforated strap allows for easy transportation and it’ll fit in most backpack bottle pockets. Also compatible with Hydro Flask’s Wide Mouth Straw Lid and Coffee Flex Sip Lid. Aquapac has been on a mission to help people immerse themselves worry-free in outdoor activities since 1983. They make a wide range of waterproof cases and bags, designed to protect your gear when you’re doing sports or working outside. They’ve sold over 6 million cases around the world and are trusted by most of our partners in the RNLI and Mountain Rescue. Their backpacks have been proven in the most demanding conditions, and we can testify to that because we’ve had our own for 2 years which has gone everywhere with us.
This week they’ve launched a new 32L pack designed for everyday outdoor carry. It’s lightweight but adaptable with a cavernous main compartment and wide mouth, and a mesh inner pocket for ease of finding your essentials. It weighs in at under 400g and is made from the same waterproof coated materials as our trusty veteran pack. They’ve launched it in a striking red colour to celebrate their rescue heritage, and we think it’d be a great gift for the upcoming winter months. There's also a kind 20% off code. Just type in 'elliotbrown' at the checkout. Buy here
Introducing a very Limited Edition Kimmeridge! The bespoke matt white dial features the Mountain Rescue England & Wales logo picked out in a pale grey outline at 6 o'clock, with bright Superluminova detailing. For a little pop of colour in keeping with MREW, the triangle key line at 12 o'clock is bright red.
We have never felt comfort like this. Our reinvented NATO webbing strap will fit most watches with a strap bar between 20-22mm. It looks fresh on the new Holton Automatic range.
Woven for us by Bowmer Bond in Derbyshire, UK on Dolly, a recommissioned Victorian shuttle loom. We fed her with soft textured yarn, dyed in small batches to produce beautifully technical slices of fabric complete with durable double selvedges unique to the loom. These straps are ultra light, fast drying, virtually unbreakable and low profile, whilst feeling like a comfort blanket next to sensitive skin. Grab one here
