The Royal Armouries Arne limited edition is based on the sell out Field Watch with a hidden story, inspired by a WWII icon in the Royal Armouries Collection.
Together we’ve turned our attention to a one-of-a-kind object within the Royal Armouries' remarkable firearms collection - the first BREN gun ever made, produced at RSAF Enfield in September 1937.
The BREN Light Machine Gun (LMG) is one of WWII's most iconic weapon systems. It was renowned for its accuracy, reliability, and versatility. This remarkable piece of engineering remained in service for an extraordinary 54 years, and it felt only fitting to let such a legacy shape the design of this special watch.
Subtle but significant design cues bring the connection to life, from the bronze chapter ring mirroring the original brass plate on the butt of the gun, to the matt black case finish, chosen to match the original finish on the barrel and using the date of when the first BREN Gun was manufactured.
The result is a watch that quietly honours a piece of engineering history while standing as a distinctive, limited-edition timepiece in its own right.
Arne is a heathland nature reserve forming a beautiful stretch of the Dorset coastline, just across Poole Harbour from EBHQ. But during WWII, it played a very different role; one that saved lives, reshaped history, and ultimately inspired the watch that bears its name. It’s a story of deception, ingenuity, and quiet purpose. You can read more about its story here.
This is a one-time opportunity to acquire this limited edition. £50 from each watch will be donated to support the work of The Royal Armouries.
