Izy’s Boys...
It’s that time of year when we reflect and remember and also the time to reveal this year’s not-for-profit charity T-shirt project.
Earlier this year we were fortunate to meet a number of our WW2 veterans thanks to the Spirit Of Normandy Trust (SONT) a charity that helps to look after and transport those still willing/able to travel to Normandy. This year was the big 80th anniversary and to honour it, we created a special version of the Beachmaster to help raise funds.
Meeting the veterans, feeling their warmth but seeing their pain when recalling events, you can’t help but be deeply moved. We feel this year is the right time to support SONT with our collective goodwill – yours and ours.
The T-shirt design below is a pre-order – you have until 11pm Sunday 10th November 2024 to place your order so be quick and please do share so no one misses out. We’ll do all the admin heavy lifting on our ticket which means that every penny over and above the t-shirt, printing and postage will go to SONT and if our gut feeling is right, this very special design is going to smash it.
Design Story:
During the SONT 80th anniversary Beachmaster watch project, we were introduced to renowned military artist Izy Shaw, indigozuluink.co.uk who produced a limited edition print whose number matched every one of the 80 special watches.
For the SONT t-shirt design, we envisaged a version of the Field of Dreams in Normandy, populated with silhouettes of the allied soldiers. We asked Izy if she could create some images for us covering all the branches of the military, from a GPMG gunner and submariner to an Arctic Commando and the men of the Light Infantry – she affectionally calls them 'her boys'. Her distinctive style has brought them to life, beautifully honouring the brief and occasion.
The order deadline is 11pm Sunday 10th November 2024. They are all being made to order so we can’t swap sizes – sorry. Once the order book closes on Sunday, there won’t be another opportunity to get your hands on this special design.
We expect to start shipping from Monday 25th November and into the following week.
Every year, since our first COVID NHS t-shirt, your commitment to our not-for-profit projects has blown us away. We hope that this year's edition of Izy's Boys continues the tradition of wearing these tees with pride.
