The California dial, or “Cali dial”, is instantly recognisable for its distinctive mix of Roman numerals on the upper half of the dial and Arabic numerals on the lower half.

The original design dates back to the 1930s and 1940s, when watches supplied to the military by makers such as Rolex and Panerai used this highly legible dial layout to help reduce reading errors in difficult conditions.

The name “California dial” became popular in the 1970s and 1980s, thanks to an LA dial refinishing company that restored the iconic “Error Proof” Rolex dials. The style soon became a sought-after modification, with watch enthusiasts and dealers across California sending their watches in. The nickname stuck, and eventually became an industry standard.

Inspired by the colours of the Pacific Ocean and the glow of an LA pool party at sunset, this Limited Edition blends deep ocean blue fading into bright azure, framed by the distinctive Baker-Miller (or "Drunk Tank") Pink.

It's a watch designed to capture the laid-back spirit of golden hour, with a cocktail in hand, chilled tunes playing and nowhere in particular to be.

We design and re-design every component to make watches that are fundamentally fit-for-purpose, minimising or eliminating typical points of failure such as spring bars breaking, straps snapping, or watches leaking - all potentially catastrophic failures.

Any watches damaged in service can be repaired quickly and economically at our in-house workshop in Poole and returned to service with the minimum of disruption.

Not only is our servicing world class, the warranty has no small print. It’s honest, comprehensive, and straightforward. The whole watch is covered for 5 years, not just the movement. The only exclusions are accidental damage, the battery and wear & tear.
