The Bloxworth Orange.
Inspired by classic sports watches from the 50’s and 60’s, detailed entirely for today’s demanding audience this second iteration of our heritage classic is literally dripping in colour.
A bright orange wave embossed dial and matching strap cause heads to turn and never look old. With a grey blue inner chapter ring warmed through with orange hour indexes this is a playful watch that begs to be shown off. Don’t let the colourful palette and pops of mirror polish on this watch fool, you though. Every ounce of its exquisite detailing is engineered to excel in the harshest environments with ‘EB’ weapons grade DNA fully intact.
There’s elegant simplicity in abundance yet glancing at the spec is all you need to know that this is a fit-for-purpose workhorse. One detail the spec doesn't mention is a little easter egg we've included for those with an eagle eye.
Subtly domed, toughened, anti-reflective sapphire crystal is perfectly framed by a precision engineered divers 120 click ceramic bezel with the clearest markings. A finely polished steel highlight blends into vertically machined splines of the coin-edged bezel, sitting proud of the watch case just enough for perfect handling even with a gloved hand.
At 40mm diameter it’s designed for any wrist size, as is the rubber strap with beautifully detailed split buckle deployant mechanism and internal rope breather lines from our harbour-side headquarters. Read more about the rubber straps and check out the Instructions tab on how to cut to size.
Pairing with a matching steel bracelet elevates it to another level of sophistication or match it up with a fabric strap for a dose of chilled style.
As with our other watch collections, 100% of our watches must pass a series of stringent tests including a 200m pressure test in water before they are deemed fit for use. We also smash a number of watches from every batch with a 3kg stainless steel pendulum mallet to ensure the movement shock protection system is fully operational. That’s an impact force of circa 500G in case you were wondering. This level of testing is by no means mandatory but it does mean you can have complete confidence, backed up by a no nonsense 5 year warranty.
Much like a metal bracelet that starts off at its longest, your rubber strap starts long and is designed to be adjusted to fit.
Allow yourself plenty of time, and try your watch and strap on your wrist before you start cutting to work out how much to shorten the strap by.
Having looked at the strap length on your wrist, if you need to shorten the strap, take the watch off, place it on a soft surface and remove one strap end from the buckle using the pointed tool (included) to push into the holes in the sides of the buckle to release the spring bar. Be careful not to lose the spring bar.
With a sharp knife or scissors, carefully cut just one section from the free end, cutting neatly and carefully along the centre of the first guide groove on the inner surface of the strap at the end nearest the buckle. Don't be tempted to cut two sections at once.
Now refit the strap end back into the buckle depressing the spring bar to locate into the hole position nearest the centre join of the buckle. Use your fingernail or a spring bar tool if you have one.
Now try the strap on your wrist again - it’s surprising how much removing just one rubber section changes the size.
If the strap still needs to be smaller, repeat the above steps, alternating which side you cut down until the strap is the perfect length.
Each time, re-attach the strap using the holes nearest the centre of the buckle so you can always increase the size a little just in case.
The attachment holes in the buckle are half the length of the strap sections so if you end up a tad too tight or a tad too loose, adjust which set of holes the strap attaches to in the buckle until it’s perfect.
It pays to be patient so you don't end up cutting your strap too short. Remember as your body temperature increases, your wrist size will increase too.
