Is it green, blue or grey? The light decides. Our distinctive NIVO dial reveals subtle shifts in colour depending on its surroundings, giving this Canford Automatic a character all its own.

NIVO – Night Invisible Varnish Orfordness – was originally developed at the Orfordness Experimental Research Establishment to camouflage aircraft during night operations. Discovered during our research into lesser-known military colours, it's quickly becoming our signature dial colour, Beautifully understated, is softer than black, more intriguing than grey and rich in history.

With no modern RAL or Pantone equivalent, every batch of dial paint is carefully matched using a colour spectrometer, resulting in subtle variations that make each production run unique.

The historic colour palette continues through a perfectly matched Tectuff® strap, with a brushed, stitched, matt leather-like finish that's exceptionally resistant to the elements.

Steel-framed dagger indexes and numerals are generously filled with pale green X1C3 Super-LumiNova®, complementing the matt NIVO dial. A stealthy black seconds hand almost disappears against the dial, leaving only its vivid red tip visible. Finely balanced polished and brushed steel details, together with the delicate keyline framing our shield and wordmark, lend a refined, purposeful finish.

The 60-minute internal timing bezel operates with satisfyingly precise clicks via the upper crown. Both crowns feature contrasting matt steel finishes, deep-grip splines and embossed ends, each with its own distinctive insignia.

Unbreakable solid steel strap bars, borrowed from our military collections, provide exceptional security while making strap changes effortless.

At its heart is the high-performance Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic movement, visible through a domed sapphire case back. With 24 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve and built-in Parashock protection, further enhanced by our proprietary shock protection system, it delivers dependable performance wherever life takes you.
